A Thesis on Quality Assurance Challenges for Private Providers

Posted By: Olwethu Bandezi on June 03, 2014

Jacqueline Baumgardt is an Accreditation & Assessment Manager at Chartered Secretaries Southern Africa, with over ten years of experience in the field.

She is also the person behind a thesis we recently came across in a Skills Universe discussion.  The research which she recently did under UNISA, examines the quality assurance structure, in an attempt to better understand how a private provider is impacted by the required regulatory requirements that govern private tuition providers in our country.

Multiple research approaches were used to get the appropriate information from Private Providers, professional bodies, CEO’s, ETQA managers & ETD practitioners with regards to their experiences of the topic.

The thesis in its entirety makes for a very interesting read, and we agree with many of Jacqueline’s views and findings. It makes for a very interesting and worthwhile read for all involved in the Skills Development sector.
